Ocali Charter Middle School (OCMS) is a non-profit, tax-exempt, tuition-free, public middle school in Ocala, Florida. OCMS is the only charter middle school in Marion County, providing students with an excellent alternative to larger schools. Under carefully selected leadership, our commitment is to provide students with excellence in education in a smaller school environment by helping them focus on their individual needs, goals, and aspirations.
How is OCMS Funded?
Like all non-profit charter schools, OCMS is partially funded through taxpayer dollars provided by the Florida Department of Education, and disbursed by Marion County Public Schools. However, unlike non-charter public schools, our organization is managed by a separate Board of Trustees, who oversee our budget and accountability.
Fundraising is a necessary part of our organization, in order to ensure our students are given equal educational opportunities as other schools, while creating a unique, smaller-school environment to help cater to various learning styles, interests, and capabilities.
Donations are graciously appreciated in order to help supply much needed resources and tools to advance learning and student achievement, including additional textbooks, state-of-the-art technology, art supplies, reading resources, science equipment, and much more.
Tax Exemption
OCMS is a recognized non-profit, charitable organization, classified under 501c3 of the IRS Code. All donations are tax-deductible as permitted by the extent of law.
