CORONA VIRUS UPDATE

Updated: Apr 24, 2020

There is some confusion with regard to whether or not school will continue. We hope this will help bring clarity to our OCMS staff, students, and parents.

Closed school campuses do not mean school is closed. It simply means we have to resort to a remote learning approach so our students can finish out the school year, well.

Dear Parents and Students:

As I am sure you are aware, Governor DeSantis declared all school campuses in the State of Florida to remain closed and unoccupied through April 15, 2020. However, learning needs to continue, and your OCMS staff is working diligently to create an effective "remote learning approach."

I am sure you are wondering, "What do I need to do next?"

The answer is simple. Just email your child's first period teacher to ensure we have your current contact information. In the body of the email, please include your child's name, grade, and daytime phone numbers and emails for both you and your OCMS student.

Teachers email address can be found here.

After that, do NOTHING. Hold tight, enjoy the rest of Spring Break, and a member of our staff will be in touch with you next week.

As our great state makes additional decisions that may impact our "remote learning approach," we will keep you informed. Stay safe. Make sure your child knows we miss them and we look forward to serving them in our new "remote learning approach."

More details will be released next week.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Matthews

Executive Director
